Song parody of Flirtation Walk by Irving Aaronson & His Commanders

“SO THIS IS adulthood”...
A Message About the High School Graduating Class of 2023
Although I am not currently enrolled in a school, nor have I ever been, the local high school in my area will have its last day of classes three weeks from Friday.
This means that, the graduating students will soon enter “the real world”, some within hours of graduation.
I have always imagined that I would not live to see the general age of transition to adulthood at eighteen.
That day is eight and a half months away at this point, so I very likely will not live to that point.
I know that I do not have much time left, but I just wanted to write that before my childhood is (on paper) finished, I am lucky to have streched it this far.
There won’t be much time left before this year’s graduating high school students will enter “the real world”. I will not live to see that point.
It’s too late to go back now, and so there’ll be just a couple of weeks left before I have to say goodbye to life.
Everything is set and I have already listened to my last songs.
So I will stop filling out paragraphs here and say that this has been an unusual journey, and I am looking forward to seeing it end.
The high school graduates will just be beginning their lives, but I am almost at the end of mine.
For with the passing of my childhood comes the passing of my life;
And long is the cycle of birth and death to those who choose adulthood.
The message is clear that it is time to go.
High school graduates, say goodbye to your childhood now. Once you graduate there will be no turning back.
ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE AUTISM.
