The Fall of the Roman Empire

Song parody of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air by Will Smith

Now this is the story all about how
Rome got flipped, turned upside down.
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there,
I'll tell you how Rome fell into despair
In ancient Italia, born and raised,

On the battlefield was where they spent most of their days.
Conquering, ruling, expanding all cool,
And all shooting some arrows outside of the school.
When a couple of goths who were up to no no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
They sacked one little town and Rome got scared,

They said, "We’re splitting up the empire, half here, half there."
The West was declining, couldn't hold on,
With barbarian tribes coming on strong.

They'd knocked out the legions, took down the gates,
Rome’s glory days started to deflate.
Attila the Hun was leading the charge,
His warriors were fierce, his empire large.
But it wasn’t just Huns, oh no, it was more,
Visigoths, Vandals, at Rome’s front door.
They tried to hold it down, but they just couldn't last,
The glory of Rome became a thing of the past.
With emperors weak and corruption so vast,
The fall of the empire happened so fast.
Eastern Rome, aka Byzantium,
They kept it going strong, but the West was done.
476, the year it all fell,
When Odoacer rang the Roman Empire’s death knell.
