I have never heard this song. My best friend in high school heard it and recited these lyrics to me. It is likely from a New Wave or Punk group from the late 1970's. He said that is how he felt after he he broke up with his long-term girlfriend.

Note: My friend died when he was just 29. I think about him sometimes, and I'd really like to hear the song that he thought was so meaningful to him.
