As mentioned Smoky Robinson, and the Commodores, but also;
The Temptations
the Supremes
The Jackson 5
The Four Tops
Marvin Gaye
Tammy Terrell
Aretha Franklin
The list is amazingly long. Berry Gordy really had a stable of stars there, and consistently put out the hits.
For an interesting trip, follow the Temptations from 'My Girl" to "Ball Of Confusion". That will sum up the incredible evolution of music during the sixties. Ball of Confusion was one of the first "psychedelic" records released. Amazing stuff. |
