my mind immediately goes to Zombie by The Cranberries, it's older than 12 years, but it was added to YouTube around that time so, it could be that.

I'm looking for a song, I have the lyrics, but can't remember the song name or band. Google was no help at all.

My best guess is it's probably pop punk, and it's not a very mainstream band, or I wouldn't be struggling so hard to find it lol.
